Use the archive when you want to return later
If a conversation is absent from Messages, open User Settings and expand Archived Chats. Select Unarchive beside the thread to bring it back. Archiving is not permanent deletion, so check this list before treating a missing conversation as lost.
For example, you can put one completed adventure aside while continuing another. If old events still influence a character, look at the memory or lorebook selected for that chat. Moving a thread out of the visible list does not itself change every saved story detail.
Understand the point of no return
Premium and Ultimate include Time Travel. Open the clock control in the chat header, select an earlier message and confirm to remove everything after it. The trash control inside Time Travel resets the conversation. Editing an earlier sent message also removes subsequent messages.
Suppose you rewind to the decision before a fictional expedition leaves harbor. The later voyage is removed, not saved as another branch you can restore. Confirmed rewinds and resets cannot be undone. Use an archive instead when your aim is only to hide the thread.
Review stored context before closing the account
The older memory list lets you inspect or delete entries and adjust their importance. Smart Mode searches saved memories and history for relevant context. Lorebooks use separate entry-editing controls rather than that importance setting. If a paid chat still uses the older system, look for Upgrade memory. Several chats with the same companion can use one book, so edits affect every chat sharing it.
For permanent account removal, open User Settings, find Account safety and choose Delete account. Read the confirmation and review subscription status before proceeding. Our privacy policy says identifiers and chat history are removed, while transaction records remain seven years and security or system logs can remain up to twelve months.

Common questions
How can I put an archived conversation back in Messages?
Open User Settings, expand Archived Chats and choose Unarchive for that thread. It returns to the Messages list.
Is an archive a permanent deletion?
No. Archived chats have a restoration option. A confirmed history rewind or reset has different consequences.
Can I recover the later messages after a rewind?
No. A confirmed Time Travel rewind or reset permanently removes the affected history. It does not preserve an alternative branch.
Does account deletion mean renewal has been cancelled?
Treat them separately. Cancellation concerns future subscription billing; deletion concerns the account and its data. Review both before closing the account.
